ISRO PSLV-C60 ushers in a new era of space exploration by successfully completing SpaDeX mission

Sriharikota, India – The successful launch of PSLV-C60 rocket on December 30, 2024, in the Space Deployment Experiment (SpaDeX) mission is a major achievement for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). SpaDeX: Main Role

The SpaDeX mission comprises two specially designed satellites: Chaser (SDX01) and Mission (SDX02). The main objective is to demonstrate autonomous control and docking capability in Earth orbit. This important technology will be essential for future lunar missions and will enable complex missions such as collecting samples from other celestial bodies and building space stations.

PSLV-C60 carries not only the SpaDeX satellite but also 24 additional payloads that showcase India’s growing potential in space technology. These payloads include new experiments from academia and startups across a range of science and technology, including:

Earth Watch: Advanced imaging and remote sensing technologies to monitor environmental change, natural resources and disaster management.

Astronomy: Instruments to study atmospheric conditions, cosmic rays and other celestial phenomena.

Technology Demonstrator: Experiments that test technologies such as advanced instruments, electronics and communication devices.
